These types of pensions can be complex and consideration of whether to transfer out of these pensions require detailed analysis and explanation.
Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Affiliate

As an accredited STEP practitioner, Chris has obtained the most comprehensive qualification in the trusts and estates field and is able to provide specialist advice in this area.
I have spent more than 30 years as an independent financial adviser.
Over the years, I have gained vast experience of the whole of the financial planning arena and provide joined-up, holistic advice and planning to help clients achieve their goals, through their lifetime and beyond.
I specialise in advising individuals and families with accumulated wealth, often heading into or in retirement. This includes Inheritance Tax and intergenerational planning. I also have good working experience of complex planning cases, EIS, VCT and Trusts.
In 2016, my previous company (Edwards Financial Services), where I had been since 1989, merged with CBW Financial Planning. I am delighted to have many clients that I have looked after for more than 25 years, which I think is a testament to financial planning at its best – where long-standing, trusted relationships are prioritised.
What I enjoy most about my job
Making a difference to clients’ lives and helping them and their families achieve their goals. Creating lifetime associations and friendships with clients and their families. Nurturing and training the team and helping to bring through the planners of the future.
About me
Getting outside, cycling, spectator sport, restaurants, pubs, musical theatre, music gigs, cooking.
Watford FC – Season Ticket holder since 1975. It was my local team when I grew up and, in those days, people actually supported their local team.
South of France.
A trip to a pub or wine bar, having just achieved something.
Swim in a shark cage.
Treat people as you would like to be treated yourself.
Trust your instinct and experience.
There is a really good vibe around the place and within the team, who I view as a second family. The partnership nature of the business means that I hold the baton for the next generation to take over. This affords me the comfort of knowing that my clients and their children will be looked after for generations to come. This is very different to the normal IFA practice where the owners are generally building a business to sell on.
