"He listened carefully, assessed my situation quickly and sensitively."
I started working with Chris Clayton at CBW about a year ago. I had been widowed in 2000 very suddenly. After my husband's sudden death in 2000, when I was most in need of professional support to organise my financial affairs, I received some very poor advice from financial planners. The advice I received was at best inappropriate and at worst negligent, to the extent that I was later advised I had a case which could go to court.

Following this negative experience, I was very wary about taking further financial advice, although I felt I would benefit from some expert guidance. Chris was recommended to me via some family friends who had worked with him, and I also did my own research to discover that he has an excellent reputation. He listened carefully, assessed my situation quickly and sensitively, and I found him to be both thoughtful and competent.

Since our first meeting, Chris has been tremendously helpful both in terms of organising my financial affairs and giving me confidence that I am making informed decisions. It was particularly important to me to have help with Inheritance Tax (IHT) planning as I wanted to feel I was making a sensible plan for both myself and my children.

I have found that Chris is knowledgeable, very good at assessing client situations and sensitive to individual requirements. I enjoy working with him as I feel he takes his responsibility to me as a client very seriously and is a great communicator - he is prompt, clear and thoughtful in response to my questions. I feel very grateful to him for his help.
