Emma Sands

Financial Planner

My journey

Qualifications
  • CII Regulated Diploma in Financial Planning (Dip. PFS)
  • Certificate in Discretionary Investment Management

My first role in financial services was running the enquiries inbox for an international fund manager. I remember receiving a letter from an investor wanting to withdraw her ISA to pay for her daughter’s wedding. Our responses were scripted, so I couldn’t EVEN congratulate her and wish them a good day!

I knew then that I wanted a more personal relationship with clients and didn’t want my contact with them to be from behind a logo.

I completed my Financial Planning Diploma with a small firm in Essex, and in 2018 I moved to CBW.

My days are now varied between client meetings, report writing, investment research and due diligence with investment managers/product providers.

What I enjoy most about my job

Being able to chat to clients about their lives does not even feel like work, quite honestly.

I’ve been planning a trip to NYC for about ten years!

What do you like about working for CBW Financial Planning?

CBW is a bit like “Cheers”, where everybody knows your name.
