Changes to our client portal

At present CBW Financial Planning use two different client portals. One to send documents and the other for our clients to view and update their profiles and portfolios.

To simplify things and as part of an ongoing process to enhance our client offering, from the 1st July 2023, CBW Financial Planning will be using just the one client portal which will be used for all purposes.

You can now access documentation, view your portfolios or update any personal details in one place. Access to our client portal can be found by clicking the “client login” button at the top of our website.

To register for our portal:

  • Use your contact email address that you have given CBW Financial Planning to contact you
  • An email will be sent to this address with an activation link
  • Complete the security questions
  • Enter a Password
  • Read and Select the Terms of Use
  • Read and Select the Privacy Policy
  • Select Register

During the process you will be asked about setting up 2 Factor Authentication or 2FA:

  • To set up 2FA, you will need an authenticator app such as Microsoft Authenticator, on your phone or laptop. You can download from the usual app stores such as Google Play, Apple Store etc.
  • Once downloaded open the app in readiness
  • Start the process of setting up the authentication by scanning the QR code from within your authentication app
  • Copy the codes provided and store somewhere safe, just in case you lose your authenticator app.
  • Input the verification code
  • Every time you log in you will need to input the generated code from your authenticator app
  • If you don’t want to set up 2 Factor Authentication select “remind me in a week”

Once in the portal, you will see 3 “widgets”:

Portfolio

From here you will be able to:

  • View your current investment values
  • Update values of your other assets such as your home or savings
  • Add any new accounts you may have
  • View any liability values – to update any of these values, please contact your adviser

Profile

From here you can:

  • Complete the ‘You & Your Family’ sections
    • ‘About You’ – your personal details
    • ‘Your Family’ – your dependents details
    • ‘Employment’ – your employment and salary details
  • Complete Home & Contact
    • ‘Your home’ – your home address
    • ‘Contact Details’ – all other contact details, such as email and phone numbers
  • Your Finances
    • ‘Your Assets & Liabilities’ – you can add new assets or liabilities, to amend values, you do this under portfolio
    • ‘Income & Expenditure’ – you can complete our income and expenditure questionnaires

Documents

This is where you can retrieve documents sent to you securely and also upload documents to us securely.

Any documents that we send you will be stored under ‘Adviser Documents’ and any that you upload to us will be stored under ‘Your Documents’.

Open Banking

We have a facility where you can link your bank accounts and credit cards to the portal, this will provide you with an analysis of your spending and will automatically update your income and expenditure details.

It provides you with a full, itemised breakdown of your spending habits. We can’t see this but it will provide us with your current balances and overall expenditure figure, to help keep our records up to date.
