My wife and I began our association with Edwards Financial about 30 years ago. At the time, our changing financial situation meant that we needed to have better advice on our investments and other life planning. Over the last few years we have continued to work with CBW when Edwards Financial amalgamated with them.

Over the years the work we’ve done together has been holistic, taking in mortgages, investments in different sectors, pensions, investment trusts, ISAs, and financial modelling for the future, latterly in retirement planning and the like.

As a result of working with the team at Edwards and then CBW, we’ve been able to manage our money better and gain peace of mind, based on the sensible options and advice that we have received through regular meetings and other communications. One of the problems, for those of us who are not financial professionals, is that we have neither the time or expertise to manage our affairs competently, but that role has been fulfilled admirably by CBW.

It’s been a very long working relationship. They’re a team and whomever you speak to, you get the same level of service. If you ring and talk to one person, you know that you are receiving a team response. The explanations of what needs to be done and how to do so are always very clear. Chris Clayton, who has the primary responsibility for managing our finances for the past ten years or so along with the others members of the team, has been very, very good at explaining the post-retirement topics, with which we now need to grapple, such as wills, trusts, and Inheritance Tax.

We believe that we have developed a very good relationship with them professionally and have a very high level of trust in their advice regarding options for our financial planning. It helps that we like them on a personal level as a result of their advice and the many fruitful meetings we have shared.

They are a great team of people. They know their clients well and as a result understand their needs at different stages of their lives, providing a highly tailored service. They are easy to work with and have definitely earned our trust.
