My first encounter with financial services was a short stint sitting behind the counter at a well-known bank. I quickly moved to a lending specialist where I went on to take my mortgage exams.

Instead of moving into a role in mortgages, I started to do my financial services exams and secured a role as a Trainee Financial Adviser in my early twenties.

Lacking confidence and real-life experience, I focused my attention and studies on the technical side of financial planning.

I spent almost eight years at JLT, now Mercer, working partly in a technical capacity and partly in an advisory pension role.

I have worked for CBW since 2019. I have a small portfolio of clients I actively look after, and I assist the other Financial Planners with technical support for their clients.

What I enjoy most about my job

I enjoy building relationships with clients and getting to work with a well-rounded bunch of people.

About me

What’s your favourite way to spend a day off?

Spending time in the garden on a nice day and watching my children play.

Do you support any teams?

My husband is a big Chelsea FC supporter so it’s easier to go along with that. My daughter plays for a grassroots football team (Harefield Girls u8s) so I am often sat on the grass on a Saturday morning cheering her on.

What’s your favourite part of the world?

I like going to America.

What one thing can instantly make your day better?

A cuddle from my kids.

What’s at the top of your bucket list?

I’d like to take the kids to Disneyland Florida when they’re a little older.

What’s the most valuable thing you’ve learnt doing your job?

The need to listen properly.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Try not to focus on what you don’t have and be more thankful for what you do have.

What do you like about working for CBW Financial Planning?

Everyone is a valued member of the team.
